Parents, give your unhappy teen "time out".

They are in transition to Adult and sometimes this causes misery. They just need physical change time to get away from their problems, school or home.

What ever the cause, a 10 week "time out" adventure challenge river cruise on Murray school ships, with 16 other teens and a skilled teacher couple, will help them reset their thoughts, meet new people, build new friendships, rethink their future, and grow strong young adult wings. They will find their "Happy now"

Give your child "Time Out" adventure to rethink.

"Time out" on river cruise school camp with our teachers helps unhappy teens rethink their future.

"School Camp" is an approved form of "Time Out" known to help kids at risk. Most kids see the school camp as the best part of school. They hang in there to go to camp.

It is a fault of the school system THAT MOST SCHOOL CAMPS STOP AT YEAR 10. With nothing to look forward to, teen school miseries compound with no relief. Mobile phones isolation make it worse. Group rejection. Depression grows. Home problems make it all worse. Suicide?

We "Cocoon" them for ten weeks in "Time Out" cruise, to help them reset for a happier future.

  • Our river school camp ship has 16 teen berths with two teachers, full time Murray cruising, with a planned "Reboot" program to reset their thinking and help them change towards a positive path forward.
  • Your child will remain enrolled with their current school and subjects.
  • Our skilled "school camp" cruise teachers will cooperate with the student's home school to maintain their existing basic SACE subjects.
  • AND include river Environmental adventure challenge studies from within the SACE together with maintenance of a personal journal during the strictly scheduled cruise term. Relevant events are reported back to the students home school and parents. Sometimes our teacher/student confidentiality is critical and will be maintained.
  • Students will do supervised kayaking with partners for exercise, reflection and chat time.
  • Their mobile phone can cruise, BUT IN THE CARE OF TEACHERS. With teacher permission, students can use their phone for essential communication.

Going to school camp is part of normal school time, usually whole class, but sometimes special purpose school camp is for individuals.

  • Individual "Time Out" is for a special purpose to help individual students, music, elite sports, mental health
  • Your child will meet other teens who are likely to have the same reason. Together, in the case of depression, their special "Time Out" school camp group will work with specialist teachers creating sdventure learning experiences the normal classroom teachers are unable to achieve during the standard school requirements.

Parents, you have the right to require their school to release your child to the "Time Out" program

Your child will remain on their home school role because attending school is required by law until their 17th birthday.

"Attending School Camp" is a permitted absence from normal school.

Under our teacher supervision, they will meet, and make new friends who may have similar school or home problems.

  • Our ten week "Time Out" school camp program is managed by our specialist mental health teacher, to help depressed students recover their health.
  • The students on "Time Out" school camp cruise, may come from several schools but they remain enrolled in their home school to comply with education law.
  • Individual Teachers may advise parents of this opportunity as a solution for the student's school problems.
  • TALK WITH YOUR CHILD'S TEACHER. They may be aware of the reasons for your child's misery. Most teachers know A COMPLETE CHANGE will help most teen problems.
  • Parents make the decision for their child to take "Time Out" and inform the school.

We offer individual enrolment of teens from any school in our 10 week "School cruise camp" . Our teachers will cooperate with that school for the student's to continue their SACE program and home school reporting.  Our specialist residential cruise camp teachers manage the programs designed to help the child recover their mental health.

  • Each student is required to maintain a personal daily Log summary of all their time on cruise camp, including their personal thoughts.
  • This log is private between the student and our schoolship teacher/mentors.
  • Student's decision to share their Log with their home school and/or their parents.
