Aerie College School ships team.

There are many reasons why older teens need help, and perhaps a different school. We provide a complete change and a safe new home for teens 15-17 on our Murray school ships. Our skilled teachers help manage the school ships and we enrol any school age person who needs help for any reason, including a compete new start with a silent history. We function as a supervised underage youth hostel and work with selected schools for curriculum delivery. Our teachers supervise student work and accommodation. Our student team works the boats as their cruising homes. Master, Capt. Bouc will provide guardianship when appropriate.

Entry to Avoca School ships is free, helping teens at risk.

DGR Donation to Avoca school ships provides "Education about the Murray River Environment"

To enable our school ships to provide this free service to youth, we request DGR donations funding to purchase, refit for school training ship operations, and for continuous operations

  • First ship purchase is TS Aerie for $400,000 - - - Community Club funding help.

The second school ship, TS Mundoo for $600,000. - - - A student team can earn income from functions.

  • The student team can work her and earn team money, not identified as wages.

Income from Cruise functions and food services funds the school ships. Kids crew the boats.

Boat maintenance services and operations are in high demand on the river. Many of the skilled workers are aging and young skilled people are needed to look after the large number of provide owned riverboats and to operate the commercial cruise boats and Hire houseboat operations.

  •  Visiting guests pay their fares by DGR Donation to the ship
  • There will always be an opportunity for DGR donation receipt on both boats.
  • Our DGR Purpose is "Education about the environment of the Murray river"

We provide River adventure School ships as safe residence to support older teens through their transition - Senior high school to TAFE study. Avoca school ships have teachers as crew. We purchase subject delivery & assessment materials from several providers, local high school, TAFE, Open access College. School ship teachers provide the learning supervision role.

A river school ship experience offers a unique and powerful blend of educational and personal growth opportunities for youth. Beyond the traditional classroom, it fosters practical skills in  care for team members, catering skills, water rescue events, boat bandling, navigation, teamwork, and problem-solving in a dynamic, real-world environment. Participants develop resilience, self-reliance, and a deeper appreciation for the river wilderness environment, often gaining a profound sense of accomplishment and an expanded worldview through exposure to different communities and challenges on the river

The Backpack: A Carry-All for Life's Journey. A backpack is an essential item for anyone, but it holds special significance for someone starting a new life.

Backpacks offer several advantages for older teen students entering college:

  • Practicality: a backpack can carry everything your child needs.
  • Organization: With multiple compartments and pockets, a well-organized backpack can help your child stay on top of their studies.
  • Hands-free: Students can carry their belongings while keeping their hands free for other tasks.
  • Casual and Versatile: Backpacks are suitable for both academic and casual settings.
  • Personal expression: A backpack can reflect your child's personality.

A Gift of Stability: Receiving a college sheltered sleeping space license to occupy (own) as a gift from your parents is a thoughtful and practical gesture. It provides them with a stable foundation during their college years, offering several advantages over traditional renting arrangements, AND the capital value remains intact to sell on when no longer needed. - - - Rent the space, and the money is gone. Students can live on their family boats under our supervision. They may even rent a sleeping bag space on the family boat to another student. Talk to Principal about use and supervision of your private family houseboat.

Current Aerie College capital value of an Annual  "Loan Licence to Occupy a sheltered sleep bag space" is $35,000. (Approximate rent value $8/night) This value is expected to increase over time as college entry places become popular. The Licence can be resold at current value to new students on graduation, and no longer need the bed. The licence can be held as an investment and rented out to another renting student for 10% return on capital value.

Aerie students roll out their swags on the floor. All our students learn swag camping skills.

Key Benefits of Owning a College sleep space License:

  • Financial Security: A bed license ensures you have a place to live without the worry of fluctuating rental rates or unexpected increases. This can alleviate financial stress and allow you to focus on your studies.
  • Stability and Peace of Mind: Knowing you have a guaranteed place to live throughout your college career can provide a sense of stability and peace of mind.
  • Potential for Capital Appreciation: In some cases, sheltered sleep space license values may increase over time, offering a potential return on your investment.
  • Community and Belonging: Owning a  sheltered sleep space license can foster a stronger sense of community within the college campus, as you become a more invested member of the institution. It is in your financial interest to make the college look good in the public view.

Additional Considerations:

  • Maintenance and Fees: While owning sheltered sleep space license typically comes with fixed monthly payments, similar to home ownership, there may be additional fees or maintenance responsibilities.
  • Sleep space License Resale Value: If you decide to sell your sheltered sleep space license after graduation, the resale value may vary depending on market conditions and the popularity of the college. Current students can enhance the marketability of their college and their investment through their good citizen public visibility and Community respect for the college..

Receiving a college sheltered sleep space license as a gift is a valuable investment in your future. It provides a stable, affordable, and potentially profitable housing option during your college years. By understanding the benefits and considerations associated with owning a bed license, you can make an informed decision about this thoughtful gift from your parents.

As a family investment collective club, Aerie College (Registered Community Charity) will purchase safe family holiday place near the Murray River, or river boats as homes, to host the Aerie College Adventure school for teens who feel pushed out of their school and/or home or entering depression.

Older teens seek Adventure with partners and a team of friends.

Teens in severe stress in school or home, want out. Many try to fly too soon and get hurt. They need to be accepted. They do things with undesirable consequences, just to be part of the group or "to be a friend".

We have open discussions about human physiology, fitness, health and care services, including building strong close friend partnerships that resist dangerous play. YES, we include discussions about baby making, and the consequences.

Aerie College can hold them before their life gets too difficult. We help them with changes necessary to repair their damaged wings, to fly safely.

Aerie College can provide the necessary safe adventure change for mental repair, and a safe home base (nest) for fledging in the proposed community resort properties and residential team river boats. We help  teens of any age, who feels pushed out of their school or home (real, or imagined), or just wanting different and adventure.

Supportive Families join Aerie Community, enjoy our collegiate community lifestyle, and help their kids.
