The benefits are enormous for country kids who are fortunate enough to be able to bring their horse with them when transitioning to senior high school then university in the city. They will sleep well.
Having their horse with them can significantly ease the transition for country teens moving to the city for senior high school. It provides comfort, reduces stress, fosters a connection to home, and opens doors to new equestrian experiences in the city.
This potential Aerie Homestay has 18 places for students and stabled horses. It will operate as a Residential Homestay to provide care for both SACE students and their horses while completing their SACE and possibly Uni, in Adelaide schools and Colleges. We will run a daily school bus to city.
The ability to study for their SACE and caring for horses while attending school in the SACE years has an amazing effect on the wellness of young people.
Active horse riding has unexpected benefits for youth in transition.
While the facilities at this campus are 5 star for both students and their horses, Aerie student will live backpacker with peer service style. International YHA rules apply. This is designed to maintain the reality of living within a budget and sharing life safely with other young adults. Parents may like to look at our entry chats that set the house rules. This is the same in all Aerie residential campuses. Students care for each other, in close living with partners and teams to attend to the maintenance of the campus. Aerie only employs staff to do what students will not have time for. Students in homestay will participate in house skills learning housekeeping, property maintenance skills and horse care as part of their homestay life. "Learn by living it".

If you have access to $300,000 capital to rest in our charity for the years of your child homestay without receiving interest. The capital is secure and available for resale to incoming Students.
It may be their inheritance capital it will be serving a good purpose, remain intact and potentially show capital gain if the Campus is well promoted. You sell your capital interest to an incoming family to recover your capital when the place is no longer needed. There is also potential for tax benefits in our charity structure. Ask you accountant. Look at our DGR status and Loan Licence to occupy (LLtO) scheme that is similar the finance used in Retirement villages. IF you do the sell-on we charge no fees to register new owner.
This investment provides the right to occupy a student bed, a horse stable and all the facilities of the Homestay property for each year of ownership so long as it is needed.
Family can share in the investment when visiting the city. Your LLtO can be resold to incoming students to recover your capital when the berth and stable is no longer required. There is potential for capital gain if the Homestay Campus is well promoted by current families.
YES, possible by RENTING - - - If you rent homestay for both student and horse it will be overall more expensive than investing in the charity.
In addition to Capital costs, there are normal consumable living costs.
We epact homestay consumable fees of $700 per week to maintain the child and horse on campus, and the bussing to school daily during school term time. Your children will be expected to contribute to the operation of their campus with VET accredited house and garden skills learning. We operated with limited key staff only, mostly teachers to reduce the consumable wages costs.
There is a comfortable three bedroom share cottage on campus available for casual visits by family on a hotel style bedroom booking basis. Meals will be served in the main house together with students. If this option is viable for country families there is plenty of space to build more motel style rooms.
Students will maintain the cottage and its garden as their vegetable patch and care for other flower patches on campus as part of their property maintenance skills, inhouse VET training. Maintain high quality presentation of the property will increase the capital investment value for members, especially if they sell on the value of the experience to other families
